Piano Perfection: Tune, Service, and Let the Music Flow

There are plenty of reasons for you to get your piano tuned. First and foremost, it keeps your piano playing at its best. Beyond that, piano tuning is critical to keeping the strings in top condition and reducing the risk of needing them replaced.

Generally speaking, the time span for tuning a piano can vary significantly depending on the type of piano, its usage, and its environment. For example, a piano that experiences heavy use—where two or more people play vigorous pieces—may require tuning up to three times in a year. In contrast, a piano located in a quieter home, such as one with a 6‑year‑old playing beginner pieces, might only need to be tuned once a year or even once every two years.

The overall environment of the building or room where the piano is housed also plays an important role. Exposure to elements like wind, direct sunlight, air conditioner vents, and moisture can all affect tuning stability and the instrument's longevity. Excessive exposure to these factors not only causes the piano to go out of tune more quickly but can also shorten its overall lifespan.

For optimal performance and long-term durability, it is recommended to tune and service your piano at least every two years.

Our tuners are all highly qualified and have decades of experience as piano technicians. In this role, they are required to diagnose and fix any problem that can occur inside of the piano itself. By getting a piano tuning from us, you know that the person responsible has comprehensive knowledge and ensures any other faults can be found.
